Parashari Jyotish — Vedic astrology
The same sky, a different starting point
Parashari Jyotish takes its name from the Indian sage Parāśara. The Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra presents its teaching as a conversation between Parāśara and Maitreya. It is a key text in this branch of Indian astrology. Its date and authorship are uncertain, and the surviving work has a layered history. We cannot honestly attach it to one verified ancient birthday or claim it predates modern astronomy by a precise number of years.
The reading uses a star-referenced zodiac, so a familiar planet can carry a different sign from your Western chart. The Moon’s place among the lunar mansions matters, as do symbolic planetary periods. Astranema also includes the calculated planetary roles used in Jaimini methods. You get another way to explore first impressions, inner friction and relationships. Periods provide context for reflection; they do not tell you when to marry, invest, change jobs or expect an event.
What it looks at
- Planet signs and houses using the sidereal zodiac.
- The Moon’s lunar mansion and the supplied planetary periods.
- Planetary roles and the strongest tensions in the chart.
