Modern / Psychological astrology

Why two sides of you can both feel true

In London in 1983, Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas founded the Centre for Psychological Astrology. Their teaching brought astrology into conversation with depth, humanistic and transpersonal psychology. Sasportas wrote The Twelve Houses and The Gods of Change, and the pair published books based on their seminars. Their work helped give modern astrology a language for inner conflict, feelings and relationships.

The shift is easy to picture: a chart becomes a way to ask why you want closeness in one moment and space in the next. It still uses planets, signs and houses, but the reading follows the person living with those patterns. Astranema includes the outer planets and close connections between chart points. It gives you possible scenes to recognise, question or reject. This is a symbolic reading, not a mental health test, a diagnosis or a claim to know your past.
