Four Pillars of Destiny — BaZi
Your birth, written in eight Chinese characters
BaZi means eight characters. They come in four pairs: one each for the year, month, day and hour of birth. This Chinese tradition grew from calendar methods rather than a Western wheel of planets. Its development is linked to Xu Ziping, traditionally placed around the Five Dynasties and early Song period. The Song dynasty lasted from 960 to 1279. Later texts helped pass on the method under his name; that history is more layered than a single invention on a known day.
The day’s first character becomes the reference point for the others. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water describe relationships within this symbolic system. The birth season matters too. Astranema turns those relationships into questions about effort, support and familiar responses. It also shows the calculated ten-year cycles. Their traditional name, luck pillars, is not a promise of success or a warning that trouble is due.
